The Reuseitaly Association focuses on the revival of historic architectural sites across Italy, annually selecting projects that reinterpret ancient structures for contemporary use. The Reuseitaly 2024 competition centered on the revitalization of the ruins of an ancient bath complex in southern Italy—a site of both cultural and natural significance.

In its proposal, Saye Architecture Office emphasized that the Mediterranean landscape surrounding the ruins is as much a part of the heritage as the remnants of the building itself. Therefore, the design not only includes a protective canopy to preserve the historical structure but also introduces a ramp-like pathway guiding visitors to a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

The result is a landmark composition in which the canopy and the ramp merge into a single architectural gesture—both protective and experiential. The roof structure, delicately suspended above the ruins, is made from a semi-transparent material, subtly evoking the ancient domes that once stood on the site and allowing history and contemporary design to coexist in harmony.
