The Second Khanideh Villa was designed in a desert city with a rich history of organic architectural solutions, such as traditional windcatchers, which transform hot, dry winds into cool, humid air for interior spaces—a remarkable feature of Persian architecture.
In line with Saye Architecture Office’s approach of referencing regional architectural heritage, the villa translates the concept of traditional windcatchers into a contemporary architectural language, integrating this strategy into a modern residence. The villa is organized around a central living area, offering views of both an outdoor swimming pool and a lush central courtyard.
The ground floor accommodates the kitchen, reception halls, and poolside auxiliary spaces, while the upper floor houses four bedroom suites, each designed as an independent unit. Overall, the villa combines modern design principles with lessons drawn from historical architecture, creating a residence that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in local tradition.
